Since its inception in 1948, NATOCO has continuously implemented various research and development activities and delivered high-quality paints to the world that are epoch-making and based on unique ideas. The functions that paints are required to perform have become increasingly diverse and challenging over time. With its 100th anniversary approaching, NATOCO has recently updated its corporate mission and vision. All physical objects in this world have surfaces, which play important roles in our everyday lives. NATOCO combines superb technology and excellent design to create surfaces that evoke in people a feeling of joy when they use and touch them.

At NATOCO, we are constantly improving our design capability and actively pushing our limits in developing products that transcend the conventional realm of paints to realize surficial enhancement. We facilitate surficial evolution that improves the comfort and quality of people’s lives and evokes positive emotions and inspirations. While the needs of clients have been in constant flux in recent years, we also have to consider the next generation as well as this one in terms of SDGs, environmental conservation, etc.

History

NATOCO was founded in 1948 and was initially operated under the trade name of Nagoya Paint Corporation.

  • 1948 Nov

    Nagoya paint corporation was established as a company that manufactures and sales thinner and alcoholic varnishes in Takada-cho Nagoya-shi by Kikujiro Kasuya.

  • 1950 Feb

    The plant moved to Futano-cho Nagoya-shi.

  • 1956 Jan

    Converted to a manufacturer of synthetic resin paint and lacquer paints.

  • 1966 May

    The Plant moved to Miyoshi-cho Aichi-pref. The trademark was united to 'Natoco'.

  • 1971 May

    The distribution center was established in Miyoshi Plant.

  • 1974 Sep

    The second plant was added in Miyoshi Plant.

  • 1978 Nov

    Company name was changed to 'Natoco Paint Co., Ltd.'.

  • 1979 Oct

    The resin production factory was increased.

  • 1987 Apl

    Laboratory was established in Futano-cho.

  • 1993 Apl

    Nagoya Plant was changed to the polymer production factory for LCD.

  • 1993 Jun

    Shop registration of the stocks to Japan Securities Dealers Association.

  • 1994 Nov

    Gunma Plant was completed.

  • 1995 Nov

    The powder coating production factory was constructed in Gunma Plant.

  • 1998 11月

    Company name was changed to "NATOCO Co., Ltd.".

  • 2001 Aug

    The attestation of ISO14001 was acquired.

  • 2003 Apl

    The order center was established in Miyoshi Plant.

  • 2003 Oct

    Natoco Paint Chemical Industry (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. was started in Shandong, China.

  • 2005 Jan

    Natoco Paint Chemical Industry (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. began to operate.

  • 2006 Sep

    The attestation of ISO9001 was acquired.

  • 2007 Mar

    The head office building was established in Miyoshi Plant site.

  • 2009 Aug

    The Central Laboratory Build. was established.

  • 2010 Jan

    Miyoshi Plant was renamed Head Plant.

  • 2011 Nov

    Korea branch office was established.

    Natoco Paint Chemical Industry (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. was started in Shandong , China.

    TOYOKAWA CMC Co., Ltd. become wholly owned subsidiary through share acquisition.

    TOMOE Co., Ltd. become wholly owned subsidiary through stock exchange.

  • 2014 Jul

    NATOCO PAINT PHILIPPINES Inc, was started in Province of Batangas , Philippines.

  • 2014 Oct

    IC SANGYO Co., Ltd. become wholly owned subsidiary through share acquisition.

  • 2017 Oct

    Natoco Paint Chemical Industry (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. was merged into Natoco Fine Chemical (Qingdao) Co., Ltd.

  • 2019 Mar

    NATOCO PAINT(THAILAND)Co., Ltd. was started in Bangkok,Thailand.

  • 2021 Jun

    NATOCO VIETNAM Company Limited was started in Ha Nam,Vietnam.

  • 2022 Apl

    Shifted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ (Standard) to the Standard Market due to a revision of the Tokyo Stock Exchange's market classification.
